How working with Specter actually works.

No vague promises. This is how an engagement with Specter runs, step by step — how fast we move, who you deal with and what we expect from each other. If something here is unclear, ask us directly.

How we work
01

Qualified profiles, not database matches.

Once we have aligned on the assignment, we begin a focused search within the relevant specialist community. Every person presented has been personally contacted, screened for the assignment and confirmed as interested and available. If a requirement is genuinely unworkable, we say so during the intake rather than starting a search we cannot deliver.

02

Intake: we define the assignment together.

We start with the work, not a job description. In an intake call we map the project context, the team someone joins, the technical stack, budget, timeline and what success looks like after three months. We confirm the agreed brief in writing before anyone starts searching.

  • Project context and team setup
  • Technical stack and must-haves versus nice-to-haves
  • Budget, rate or salary band and start date
  • A written, agreed search brief
03

Specialist communities make speed possible.

Our communities are built per specialism — ERP, Data & AI, Security, Infrastructure & Cloud and Software. That means we already know the relevant market and can begin with established relationships instead of a database of strangers.

04

Every profile is screened before you see it.

We only send profiles we have personally spoken to. That conversation covers technical depth against your actual context, availability, notice period, rate expectations and motivation. What we are unsure about, we flag — we do not smooth it over. You typically receive two to four profiles, not twenty.

  • Personal interview before any submission
  • Availability and notice period verified
  • Rate and budget checked against your band
  • Honest flags, no overselling
05

Interviews and offer, with us in the middle.

We schedule the interviews, prepare both sides and keep feedback moving after every round. When you want to move to an offer, we manage the negotiation — rate, start date and contract terms — so nothing avoidable stalls in the final stretch.

06

How do we charge?

We support contracting, freelance and consultancy engagements. The commercial model, responsibilities and terms are agreed for the specific assignment before work begins. We do not send profiles you did not ask for.

  • Contracting and freelance
  • Consultancy and project support
  • Responsibilities agreed upfront
  • Terms confirmed for each assignment
07

I am an IT professional. What can I expect?

One dedicated contact who knows your specialism, no CV spraying and no submission of your profile to any client without your explicit approval. We come to you with concrete opportunities — with context, rates and honest trade-offs — and if we have nothing relevant, we say so instead of keeping you warm.

08

Which countries do you cover?

Belgium, the Netherlands and France, with offices in Antwerp, ’s-Hertogenbosch and Paris and the same specialist communities operating across all three. Cross-border assignments are common — we handle the practical and contractual differences per country.

09

What happens to my data?

We keep personal data only for defined purposes and share it where there is an appropriate basis to do so. You can exercise your privacy rights through our preferences page. We verify requests where necessary and apply any legal retention exceptions before confirming the outcome.
